Favorite Photo Friday #18

Bryson trying his first popsicle. He was not too crazy about it. He took two bites then handed it back to me and said "all done." Shane was mowing the backyard during this. Bryson sat in that chair and watched him the entire time. He was so mesmerized with it. It gave me a chance to cook dinner without him tugging at my legs the whole time. We might have to buy him his own little lawn mower so he can help daddy.

Happy 4th of July

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. It was extra special for us since Bryson got to celebrate it as an American citizen. We decided to go a parade they were having near our house. It lasted about 2 hours and from what I can tell, Bryson enjoyed it although it was hot! We just couldn't make him understand that he couldn't walk down the street with everyone else in the parade. This was our first time attending this parade and I can't believe how much candy and beads they threw out. His wagon filled up quickly with both. He would wear the beads for a few minutes, then toss them in his wagon. A few minutes later, someone would walk by, see he had no beads on his neck and put some on him. After minutes, those would go in the wagon as well.

After the parade, we all came home and took a nap then we headed over to a friend's house to swim, eat and watch the fireworks. Of course, Bryson loved the fireworks. The only problem was they were going off in so many different directions, he could decide which ones to watch.

Today we decided to head over to Cypress Gardens. It's an amusement park about an hour away that is 1/8 the size of Disney World. Besides that fact it was super hot, we had a good time. Bryson was able to ride a few of the rides.

20 months old

I can hardly believe that my baby will be 2 in four months. Where does the time go? I joke all the time that I wish he could stay this little forever. You should see the looks I get from Shane. Next Thursday we have the appointment with our social worker for our first post placement report. It's crazy to think that he has already been with us for 20 1/2 weeks. He seems to be doing well. We still have our days, but they are getting better. I still think his favorite word is "no." He loves to hear how many times we can say it in an hour span. I contacted our local Early Steps program to have Bryson evaluated in all areas with my biggest concern in speech. We have our evaluation appointment scheduled for 7/16.

A few have asked if we have ran the liver tests yet, but after the hospital stay, I wanted to postpone them for awhile. I called his GI doctor and asked to take a look at any tests or x-rays that were ran in the hospital to let us know if she still feels additional tests need to be ran. I am waiting on her call back. We still are struggling in the food department. He continues to turn his nose up at most table food. He occasionally tries a new food, but it usually ends up in my hand within seconds.

He seems to be doing well in daycare. His class is 18 months - 2 years. I am not sure if he is the youngest, but he is definitely the smallest. His teacher's have told me not to worry about him because he walks around like he owns the place and usually picks on the biggest kid there. Figures! I took him for another haircut the other night. He screamed and kicked the whole time. That's the exact reason I had been putting it off. My son is not scared of the Easter bunny like most children, but getting a haircut is a different story.

Apparently dining room tables are also used as a foot rest. At least that is what my son thinks. I guess I didn't get that memo.
