Halloween theme or not?

Bryson's 2nd birthday is just a few days before Halloween, October 27th. I have been so excited to start planning it and now that my mom's party is over, it's time to start. Since his birthday is around Halloween time, I can't decide on whether or not to do a Halloween theme. Obviously if I did do this theme, I would want it more kid friendly and not so scary. I could have the kids wear their costumes, though we live in Florida and it is likely to be pretty hot the day of his party. Here are a few cute Halloween themes I have found:

Or there is this monkey theme:

Or a monster theme:

I have decided to stay away from any characters or cartoons because Bryson doesn't have any interest in the TV which means he would have no clue who they were. Which theme do you like? Or do you have any other suggestions?

I really like the monkey theme. I always like to separate birthdays from holidays so they stay as 'special days' and not a mash of two events. My second choice would be the Lil' Monsters though if you wanted to stay around the holiday theme. I'm sure whichever way you go, you will have a great time!!

I agree about keeping birthdays and holidays separate, although Bryson probably won't know the difference this year.

Lil' Monsters would get my vote because it could be Halloweenish.

Have fun planning!

I think the lil' monsters are cute, too! A party of little 2 year olds will be like having a room full of little monsters! Just kidding, sort of.

I like the Lil' monster. It's sort of Halloweenish but not completely. Very cute. I think it's best to keep them seperate if possible. Just because there are only so many days that are fun with costumes, candies, cakes, decorations, etc. Not combining means one more day filled with fun! Just my thoughts. :)

I like the Lil' Monsters theme. It's Halloween & not at the same time. P.S. The background page makes it really hard to read your comments.

I like the monkey theme too! It is so cute! I think costumes would be fun, too if they are not too hot. It sounds like he will have a very fun party! :)

Love the Lil MOnster theme, so cute and I love the colors!
The monkey is my second favorite, because afterall, aren't little boys such monkeys!

Maks also has mid october birthday, I thought about a halloween theme too, but have opted to do a farm theme/fall fest theme.
